Cookie Policy
Draft. This document is awaiting review by a legal advisor and may change. Last updated 28 October 2026.
This policy explains how Home Improvement Hub uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in much the same way. We refer to all of them as cookies here.
Your choice comes first
Analytics and advertising cookies are off until you choose. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept all, reject all, or choose by category. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
We use Google Consent Mode, so Google's tags don't set analytics or advertising cookies until you've given consent for them.
Cookies we use
| Category | What they do | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Remember your cookie choices. The site can't respect your choice without them. | hih_consent (local storage) |
| Analytics | Measure how visitors use the site, so we can improve it. Only with your consent. | Google Analytics cookies, such as _ga |
| Advertising | Show which adverts brought visitors to the site, and measure their results. Only with your consent. | Google Ads cookies, such as _gcl_au; Meta cookies, such as _fbp; hih_attribution (our record of the advert that brought you here) |
The quote form
The quote form is provided by Quickleads and loads from its servers. When you submit it, you're taken to a confirmation page on Quickleads' website, which has its own cookie and privacy practices.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, the site may ask for your cookie choice each time you visit.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when the cookies we use change, and show the date of the last update above.
