This policy explains what personal information Home Improvement Hub collects, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
Home Improvement Hub (homeimprovementhub.co.za) connects homeowners with home improvement service providers. The service is powered by Quickleads, which runs the quote request form and passes each request to up to 3 providers.
The legal name and registered details of the responsible party will be published here.
Information we collect
When you request quotes
The quote form asks for your name, email address, phone number, region and suburb, and details of the job, such as the type and size of the work and how soon you need it. You can also add a description of your project.
When a service provider applies to join
The provider sign-up form asks for your name, company name, email address, mobile number, the services and provinces you work in, and an optional message.
When you use the website
Our servers record basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to run and secure the site. With your consent, analytics and advertising cookies record how you use the site and which adverts brought you here. If you arrive from an advert, we keep the campaign details from the link (such as utm parameters and ad click IDs) for your visit. See our cookie policy.
Why we use it
- To get you quotes. Your quote request is shared with service providers so they can contact you about your job. That's the purpose of the service, and you ask us to do it when you submit the form.
- To review provider applications and contact providers about joining the network.
- To run, secure and improve the website, including measuring how it's used, with your consent where cookies are involved.
- To measure our advertising, with your consent.
- To meet legal obligations, for example where the law requires us to keep or disclose records.
Who we share it with
- Service providers. Each quote request is shared with up to 3 providers who do that kind of work in your area, so they can contact you and quote. They use your details to quote on your job.
- Quickleads, which runs the quote form and distributes requests to providers.
- Companies that help us run the site, such as hosting, email and analytics providers, who process information for us under agreements that require them to protect it.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Information sent outside South Africa
Some of the services we use, such as Google's analytics and advertising tools and Meta's advertising tools, may store or process information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we rely on the protections POPIA requires for cross-border transfers, such as the recipient being bound by laws or agreements that give adequate protection.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. The specific retention periods for quote requests and provider applications will be published here.
How we protect it
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, damage and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections to the website.
Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it
- ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or unlawfully held
- object to us processing your information, and withdraw consent you've given
- object to direct marketing at any time
- complain to the Information Regulator

Our service is for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
